Most of us have a daily routine. It helps keep us organized and gives us a sense of purpose. But did you know that even dogs can benefit from a routine? In fact, they likely need it more than we do!
Here are 4 reasons why you should make sure your dog has a routine:
Command Training
Training is crucial to a dog’s safety and good behavior. It’s a good idea to set a fixed time for training every day (or every couple of days). Better yet, plan a weekly teaching schedule. This allows your dog to be ready and have his brain activated at the right time!
Feeding
A routine for eating can help a dog to regulate their appetite. This prevents unwanted weight gain from overeating, or from irregular eating patterns. It also reduces the risk of gastrointestinal problems.
Potty Training
If your dog has a fixed schedule for going outside to use the bathroom, they are less likely to deal with accidents inside. Their bodies will align to the schedule.
Mental Health
Did you know that a very random schedule can cause stress, nervousness, and anxiety in dogs? A regular routine can help to keep a dog happy!
