When we hear about dogs being neglected, we are often outraged. Unfortunately, dog abuse remains a common problem in our society today. Sometimes these dogs go through horrific experiences that may cost them their lives. One sweet little dog, Missy, was recently found on the brink of death. The pup was half-starved and dying in a trash pile when Lou Sisk rescued her.
Lou quickly took Missy to a vet for medical attention. At the vet, they discovered she was suffering from numerous diseases, including scabies and a serious infection. It was certain she wouldn't have made it if she had not been rescued on time.
Missy also had a terrible infection on her uterus that could only be treated by removing the uterus completely with surgery. Thankfully, the surgery was successful, and Missy only needed a couple of months to recover.
It took time and lots of care before Missy started getting better. She soon gained weight, grew stronger, and was ready to be adopted into a forever home.
Missy didn’t have to wait long before a lovely family adopted her, giving her a home she could finally call her own. If you see her today, you wouldn't believe she was dying in a trash pile some months ago. We are glad things turned out well for her.
