Street life isn't easy for stray dogs. Our hearts go out to them, particularly stray dogs that have incurred one injury or the other while going about their daily lives.
One small dog was seen recently lying down in the middle of the road. When rescuers from Cats of San Bernardino arrived at the scene, they were astonished because the pup refused to move out of the road, even though a truck was speeding towards her.
When rescuers came up to her, the dog stayed still. While the behaviour seemed odd coming from a stray dog, rescuers believe it was likely a vehicle hit her, and she stayed there because knew she needed help.
The rescuers quickly picked up the dog, later named Reina, and transported her to a veterinarian for medical attention. At the vet, they learned her front leg was broken and needed to be fixed. So they left her at the clinic.
When the rescuers returned to check up on Reina, she was smiling from ear to ear. It didn't take long before she worked her way into their hearts. Reina now lives in a loving home and enjoys running around with other dogs. Her cute smile remains to this day.
