Dog Left To Starve Gets Another Chance At Life

Dog Left To Starve Gets Another Chance At Life

We are always shocked when we hear about abused dogs because, as loving dog parents, we can't imagine why anyone would want to harm these good boys and girls.

A dog in Oak Cliff, Texas, was a victim of abuse, but thankfully, someone was there to save him.

Kaleigh Wetrich and her friend were out for a walk in the woods when they started hearing faint barking. On investigating the sound, they found a boxer mix wrapped up in a garden hose and tied between two trees. Someone had left the dog there without food or water to die.

Kaleigh knew she couldn't walk away from the situation without feeling haunted for the rest of her life. Immediately, she walked up to the dog, and he started barking as if to say, "help me."

Kaleigh decided it would be best to contact Apollo Support & Rescue for help. It didn't take long for a volunteer at the rescue, Steve Basham, to arrive at the scene to help the poor pup, who seemed to have been left there for at least a week without food or water.

The dog, later named Lucky, was taken to the clinic for medical attention. Lucky suffered severe anemia, flea infestation, and hookworms. He is currently getting all the treatment and care needed to bounce back.
