Zeke is one of the sweetest dogs ever. His life hasn’t been easy, but he takes every chance he has to be happy and smile. And his cute, crooked smile has won over the volunteers from The NOAH Center in Stanwood, Washington.
Zeke is very people-oriented and loves to socialize. Above all, he loves attention and getting loads of pets and cuddles. He will always stay close to people, even trying to sit in their laps if they allow it. Even though he is a big boy, he still believes he is a lap dog. When he arrived at the shelter, at just 7-months-old, a vet examined his twisted face.
They determined it was because of a birth defect. He had to have some corrective surgeries. His face is still crooked, but it doesn’t affect his daily life at all. He got adopted rather quickly, but his family had to take him back to the shelter because they couldn’t afford to take care of him anymore.
Even though the staff is excited to be able to spend more time with him, they are still hopeful that he will find a forever home soon. And his crooked grin will definitely steal someone’s heart in no time. So far, not many people have been interested in Zeke, particularly because, as he ages, he will need more surgeries to keep his deformity in check.
But the staff is sure that the right person will come along and offer him the home he deserves. Until then, he will stay at the shelter, running around, being the goofy dog he always was, and putting a smile on people’s faces.
