Aaron Jackson is the founder of a charity organization called Planting Peace, trying to do everything they can to help at the Polish-Ukrainian border. He’s been reading all the horror stories for a couple of weeks, before deciding to hop on a plane and arrive to offer his help to the people in need.
At first, Jackson didn’t expect he will be helping pets too, but shortly after arrival recognized the importance of keeping these families together. Jackson reported that a couple of million people have fled Ukraine and most of those people are coming to Poland. As a result, finding proper housing became unbelievably difficult for them. Having a pet makes it even harder due to the limited space and some places don’t even allow animals.
Jackson, together with his team, put their focus on locating refugees with animals in need of long-term homes. Miraculously, a couple of days ago, he stumbled upon a local animal shelter where he offered to help.
Right when he was speaking outside with the director of the shelter, Bella, the gorgeous cocker spaniel, and her family came by.
Jackson soon found out that the family was forced to give up their dog because they were homeless and didn’t know where else to go. So they wanted for Bella at least to be taken good care of. To their luck, Jackson was able to help out and provide a nice home for everyone, even for Bella. Talk about a grain of solace in a horrible situation. This family was finally relieved.
Jackson and his organization are heroes, not just to this family, but to many others as well. Planting Peace has donated food and carriers for animals to nine refugee camps along the border. Thanks to them, these families could stay together and find much-needed food and shelter. As Jackson said, pets are part of the family too.
