A family was shocked when they saw an unfamiliar blue bucket placed in their yard one day. They came closer to investigate and were absolutely horrified by what they discovered – a little group of four very small, bald, and frightened abandoned puppies.
The family reached out to the RSPCA, and Inspector Rebecca Timberlake hurried over. She was shocked when she saw just how tiny the puppies were, and how sick they looked. Their skin was red and raw and they were obviously in need of a lot of help. She quickly rushed the pups to a vet.
The vet tripped revealed that the puppies were dehydrated and dealing with a very severe mange issue. Two of the puppies also had problems with their eyes. Vets hurried to provide the necessary treatment, and then it was time for them to go to the Millbrook Animal Center. Here, they would get more treatment and be nursed back to health.
The puppies have a lot to deal with in the coming months. They’ll have to take medication and special baths regularly, and possibly on a long-term basis. But despite everything they’ve been through, the little ones are doing well! They began to start showing their fun-loving personalities and puppy energy once treatment began.
The puppies are all named after Stranger Things characters: Dustin, El, Lucas, and Mike. They have a bit of a journey to go before they’re healed enough and grown up enough to be adopted. Till then, they’re enjoying all the love and affection they’re receiving from staff and volunteers!
In the meantime, the RSPCA is trying to figure out who dumped these poor puppies. If you have any relevant information, reach out to them at 0300 123 8018.
