Smuckers, a Golden Retriever/Labrador mix, loves to dig but her parents aren’t usually such big fans of her digging. One day, she was getting into trouble digging holes in her Denver backyard, when her dad, Steve, came outside to tell her to stop and to try to fill in the holes.
When he looked down in one 10 inch hole, he saw Smuckers had uncovered a Purple Heart medal! He reached out to a Vermont-based non-profit called Purple Hearts Reunited to see how they could help and help they did!
