Here Are 6 Signs Your Dog Is Bored And Needs A Little Entertainment!

A bored dog is one that will soon be up to mischief. Here are six signs that point to a lot of boredom on your dog’s part!

Attention-Seeking

Is your dog really, really trying to get your attention? Are they whining or barking, jumping around, walking in front of you, or nudging you? They may be trying to ask you to entertain them!

Bothering Others

Is your dog picking on other animals, whether within your home or outside of it? They might be “pulling pigtails” to get a reaction that eases the boredom.

Clinging

Is your dog clinging to you? Have they practically become your shadow? They could be using you for entertainment.

Destructive Behavior

A dog who starts digging up the yard, chewing objects they shouldn’t be chewing, diving in the trash cans, or barking incessantly might be desperately trying to release bored energy.

Over-Grooming

A dog who is very bored may begin to groom themselves to an extreme. Most choose a spot on their body and lick, paw, or chew at it repeatedly and compulsively, especially on their front legs.

Pacing

Is your dog pacing a lot back and forth, with no clear direction, rhyme, or reason? They have some energy and no way to let it out, so they’ve reverted to walking around to burn it off.
