With intuitive guidance, energize your hands and place them lightly on your dog’s body, sharing energy for approximately ten minutes. Then work through these eight steps in the touch chart to exchange energy between you and your dog:
1. Step One
Trace little circles all over the skull. An energetic release is achieved when dogs get up and stretch out, or yawn.
2. Step Two
Circle slowly down the spine using light pressure from the base of the neck to the hips, releasing tension one vertebra at a time.
3. Step Three
Circle on either side of the spine in gentle and slow movements all the way down to the hips. Hover your hands above an inflamed or a swollen area and imagine you are pulling the heat out.
4. Step Four
Circle in repeat pattern over the hips to loosen them and ease soreness.
5. Step Five
Circle lightly and slowly over the shoulder down to the triceps until the elbows. Relax your dog’s muscles by placing your fingers inside his armpit with thumbs on top.
6. Step Six
Relax the hamstrings by placing your fingers inside the muscle between your dog’s legs with thumbs on top.
7. Step Seven
Release the ribs by lightly touching the space between each rib with your forefinger, working your way to the bottom of the rib cage in a repeat pattern downward.
8. Step Eight
Start beneath the neck and zigzag from one side of the sternum to the other all the way to the belly.
