Hero Woman Gives Up Everything Just To Help Save Hundreds Of Stray Pups

Homeless pups are not an uncommon sight in Kastamonu, Turkey, where they are often dumped in the mountains or on the streets. One woman, Sebahat Hanifeoglu, has given up absolutely everything in her life to save them.

When Hanifeoglu first noticed the horrific conditions of hundreds and hundreds of abandoned strays, she knew she had to help them. Knowing it would be impossible to save all of them at once, she devised a plan – she would start by visiting spots where dogs barely clung to life.

Every morning, she would awake at the crack of dawn, collecting sufficient food, water, and blankets to bring along. Then, she would hike into the mountains and meet all the pups there. The dogs all grew to love Hanifeoglu. They knew she cared for them and they loved spending time with her.

Hanifeoglu began taking trips to five different locations every single day with no fail. She gave all the abandoned pups she met absolutely everything that she could – a habit she still continues to this day. But that’s not where her efforts end, either. She began to feel bad about the shelterless dogs, and so she and a group of volunteers decided to build nice sheds for the pups to rest in.

Sadly, her good work has attracted bad people. Some have destroyed the sheds, others have continued to take advantage of what she does in order to abandon their dogs, and some have stolen the hard-built shelters. But Hanifeoglu doesn’t care – this cruelty only makes her all the more determined to succeed.

Today, Hanifeoglu’s work continues. She and Dumpster Doggies are working on building an actual shelter building for the stray pups. Her actions have gained her fame across the world, and they’ve even successfully led to the adoption of Nazli, a blind dog, who now lives in Canada.

Though Hanifeoglu faces much adversity, she vows to never stop helping pups as much as she can. Her hurdles have only made her more certain that she will never give up.
