How This Clever Dog Gets Pets From Strangers

How This Clever Dog Gets Pets From Strangers

By this point, you are probably used to people trying to scam you. But have you ever heard of a scam run by a dog? Seems impossible, doesn’t it? Well, not really.

Alyson Aguerrebere was out on her daily run in Long Beach when she noticed a small white dog. The dog was alone on the sidewalk, without a leash, and she just seemed lost. Naturally, Alyson began worrying so she approached her. As she got closer, she noticed a sign behind the dog. The sign simply read “I’m Harper. I live here and I pretend to be lost so you’ll stop and pet me.”.

It was at that moment that Alyson understood what was going on. She was being scammed by a dog! And the scheme seemed to be working out quite well for the little daredevil.

Harper is a three-year-old rescue that was adopted by a loving family. Since finding her forever home, she can’t seem to get enough attention. Because of that, she is allowed to hang out on the sidewalk under the close watch of her parents.

Alyson found the situation simply hilarious. Of course, she decided to sit down on the sidewalk and start petting Harper. After 25 minutes of belly rubs, Harper’s mom came out and told Alyson that the dog does this several times a day. She never wants to go inside because she’s such a sucker for attention.

And she loves attention so much, that she isn’t afraid to crawl into people’s laps and nudge them for pets. So, if you’re ever in Long Island, just beware of this grand scheme!
