Leaving a dog behind when you have to go away for a while is never easy. As pet parents and dog lovers, we find it absolutely heartbreaking, whether it is for work or for a holiday.
One dog mom, Taryn Denison, found herself in this position when she was deployed for eight months. Taryn is dog mom to a special Husky named Bauer. Bauer is no regular Husky! This furry face doesn’t bark and run zoomies like most Huskies but does the complete opposite. Bauer is a quiet comforter. He first met his doggy mom when he was just a young pup and they have been inseparable ever since. When Taryn heard she was getting deployed, she was worried about Bauer.
Thankfully, Bauer could stay in the house with Taryn’s roommate and dog, Macie. Even in good company, Bauer was not handling the situation very well. Every time Taryn tried to video call, Bauer could not understand what was happening and ran to the door to look for her in confusion. This broke both Taryn and Bauer’s hearts! After a while, Taryn was able to return home and when the two reunited, it was a moment like never before. When Taryn walked through the door, Bauer immediately lost it! He ran and jumped on her, basically licking her to death.
His old character was back and he was no longer lying in front of her door waiting for her. Even Macie was excited, purely from seeing Bauer so happy. What a heart-warming story!
