Your dog's bed can be a hotbed for germs if you don't clean it regularly. When dogs retire to their beds, they deposit everything there, including dirt, hair, and disease-causing organisms. Here are suggestions on how to clean your dog's bed properly.
How to Remove Hair
Vacuum the surface and sides of the bed with a pet hair vacuum or a pet hair remover tool before washing it with water to prevent hair from clogging your machine.
How to Remove Stains
The following are homemade solutions that will help you remove some common stains:
1. Poop: Apply cold water and distilled white vinegar on affected area. Blot with a cloth until the stain disappears. Sprinkle baking soda afterwards and allow it to dry overnight.
2. Urine: Sprinkle baking soda on the affected area and wait until it soaks the urine. Mix baking soda, vinegar, and water into a spray bottle and spray on the stain. Leave for 10 minutes and blot with a cloth.
3. Mud: First, let the stain dry. Twist the affected area until you break off loose dirt. Vacuum it before blotting it with a wet cloth.
4. Blood: Soak the area with cold water and gently blot the stain with a wet cloth until you've removed many stains. Afterwards, mix baking soda, white vinegar, and cold water and apply to the area. Leave the solution for thirty minutes before blotting.
