COVID restrictions have affected every aspect of society and have even affected our dogs. Now that the restrictions are being lifted, people are heading back to the office.
Dogs have been struggling with getting used to the new normal and Bo expressed his feelings in the most dramatic way. Bo is a rescue dog left abandoned as a puppy.
Vickie Richards Shelton found him thrown away in a cardboard box when he was only a month old. She could not leave him there since she loved animals and knew it was her responsibility to give him a better life. Now, it’s two years later and Bo has a strong bond with his mom and his seven dog brothers and sisters. He’s a huge fan of snuggling and loves to play. He gets along well with his siblings and other people.
However, Bo started acting out when Shelton started going back to work. She puts the dogs in their own room when she leaves so there is no mischief when she leaves. Bo decided to express himself using the room he was assigned to. This was the living room.
When Shelton got home, it was covered in stuffing from the couch sort of like a cloud had thrown up in there! She thought she had been robbed but Bo sat down in the middle looking guilty.
She spent nearly four hours getting rid of it. Bo tore every inch of the couch apart, even at the sides. She was used to him ripping up toys, but she didn’t think he would do anything to the couch. She put him in a crate, but Bo wasn’t finished yet. He chewed his way out of it and was waiting by the door when she came home.
He appeared uninjured but she took him to the vet anyway. He wasn’t hurt, but they were concerned, so he was put on medication to help him cope with his anxiety. Hopefully, they help him overcome these emotions.
