Kind Priest Comes Up With A Beautiful Way To Help Stray Dogs Find Their Loving Homes!

We have read many articles of people doing great things for shelter dogs to promote their adoption. Picture prints on pizza boxes, canine faces on beer cans, you name it and somebody has most likely already done it. But have you ever heard of stray dogs being allowed to attend church? Probably not!

Over in Brazil, a priest has done what no other has ever done before! Father João Paulo Araujo Gomes, the priest of Paróquia de Sant’Ana Gravatá in Brazil, allows strays into his church during Sunday mass.

He believes that providing a place free from the harsh outside world is no exception for dogs. A place of refuge and shelter is not limited to humans in his church! This priest allows these shelter dogs to lay around and receive all the love and affection they desire.

Father João encourages the idea of safety from outside dangers and encourages awareness of these dogs for adoption too. Being the center of attention is, of course, well received by these precious pups!

This also provides laughter and joy for congregation members, which according to Father João, is what makes the world a better place! The streets can be a very cruel place for dogs, and Father João has provided them with temporary safety and refuge.

Religious or not, we can all see what a difference this makes in the canine companion’s lives and is a great initiative. Does it really matter who takes the initiative to help those we adore the most? Certainly not! After all, acts of kindness and compassion are universal, regardless of any background.
