Loving Dog Can't Seem To Stop Loving Orphaned Fawns!

There are a lot of different words we use when describing dogs’ attributes. We call the faithful, loyal, and even obedient. However, we don’t usually describe dogs as “kind”.

Well, that’s precisely the word we can use to describe this German shepherd. Sarge may look tough at first glance, but beneath the bold demeanor is a sweet, kind and compassionate heart. Sarge’s pet parent, Cheryl Stephen, noticed this side of him just recently. The German shepherd likes to comfort rescued fawns. Somehow, images of Sarge and the fawns surfaced on the internet and got people curious.

Cheryl, Sarge’s pet parent, has some exciting qualities too. You can say that she and Sarge deserve each other. Cheryl owns a small farm that houses a few animals. Here’s the exciting part: She does not rear these animals for food or any other uses. All the animals on the farm are simply brought in to be cared for and cherished.

If that’s not amazing, then I don’t know what is. Cheryl rescues unwanted animals and brings them home to care for them and nurse them back to health. According to her, she loved rescuing and caring for strays since she was a child.

Cheryl brought Sarge into the farm almost a decade ago. He’s what many people would consider a rare breed these days. His dad and mom were also German shepherds, so we can call him a full breed. Sarge was always playful and full of life like most other German shepherds his age, and this was all his new family knew about him. Everything changed about six years ago…
