Cape Cod Doxie Day is the kind of event that you’d definitely be sure to love. This year was the 12th annual iteration of this event. Organizers describe it as a day packed with “fun and frolic” that features everything that a dachshund dog may love!
The event drew in a huge number of dachshund lovers from all across the country. Apart from the usual dachshund races, which were a joy to watch, they also featured a lovely parade packed with Paw Affection Dachshund Rescue rescue dogs awaiting forever homes. There were also dachshund trivia events and an enchanting performance by the Cape Cod Ukelele Group.
A pop-up dachshund cafe was also set up for the first time in the event’s history. Additional new categories for sausage dog rewards, like “longest dachshund”! A number of vendor tables were opened up, with proceeds going to nonprofits. There were also food trucks, and a bunch of games and prizes hosted by radio station 99.9! All in all, it was a truly fantastic event that many people enjoyed!
