The faith, trust, and love that pups can hold for others despite a difficult past is heartwarming, and it really makes you wonder how anyone could have the heart to hurt them.
When Sarah the English bulldog pup was found left for about 12 hours on the Almost Home No-Kill Shelter’s driveway in Southfield, Michigan, she had every reason to be distrustful. The 60-pound pup had been stuffed into a cat carrier, and her body had been forced and contorted in order to fit into the little crate.
She was in a lot of pain and her limbs and bones had been bent and twisted. But when she was removed from the cruel container by staff, she had only love and kisses to give, even though she must have been suffering a lot.
The pup quickly received the medical attention she needed for the injuries she sustained, including a herniated disc which meant her hind legs were paralyzed.
Following this, the pup was moved to a foster home, where she began to learn to stand again. But as the injuries left her with a swollen spine, and she’s still in the process of healing now.
Throughout the whole rescue and recovery process, this pup’s affectionate nature, charm and personality shone through. Her strength and big heart are really an inspiration!
