It’s a real privilege to be a dog parent. They enrich our lives in so many ways, and all they ask for is love and care in return. This includes taking them out for walks where they can roam freely, and of course, poop freely.
But that doesn’t mean we should leave it there for everyone else to encounter. Think about how unpleasant it would be if your dog pooped all over your house. Why would it be okay for your dog to poop all over the street?
Daisy is my family’s dog. We also have two kittens named Bomber and Dottie. My entire family has a responsibility for giving them time, attention, and exercise. We take them out for fresh air often, because being in the house all day isn’t fun or healthy for everyone. However, while there, I notice how many people don’t take the time out to scoop up after their pooch!
When I take my dog out for a walk, she often takes the opportunity to go to the bathroom once she finds a good spot. As soon as she is done doing her business, I take out my green doggie bag and scoop up what she left behind. I thought that’s what everyone did until I really took a look around my hometown. There are so many beautiful houses, with well-manicured yards, but they are often tainted with poop.
The appearance of our community reflects on us the residents. Why not keep it clean? I’m not the only one frustrated, and we need to do better as a community!
