Amanda Harris knew she had to foster Pippa the moment she saw a picture of her. The 7-week-old puppy had arrived with the rest of her family – a mama, papa, and even a brother – but she was in the worst shape. They were all covered in mange, but she had no hair at all, and her skin was full of scabs and sores.
Harris rushed to pick up Pippa from the Atlanta Humane Society. The poor little Chihuahua puppy was very fragile but extremely loving. She constantly wanted to snuggle and wanted to burrow through cushions and blankets.
Harris had to watch her around the clock and give her the right medicine, and she saw just how much pain the little one was in. That’s why she was so amazed by Pippa’s adorable loving and friendly nature and her endless desire for snuggles.
The good news is that the little puppy started to heal fairly quickly thanks to medication, medicated baths, and lots of TLC. The more she healed, the more Pippa showed even more of her personality.
Her larger than life heart allowed her to be friends with her foster siblings, which were both much larger than her.
She definitely didn’t mind, though, becoming fast friends with Harris’ big, heavy dogs.
They played together, cuddled, and spent lots of time together. She also went with Harris to work every day in a tiny Chihuahua purse!
Pictures of Pippa soon gained popularity on social media, and that’s how Terri Dickson found her. Dickson fell head-over-heels in love with Pippa the moment they met, and now the tiny pup with the big personality is safely in her forever home!
