Sir Patrick Stewart And His Wife Mourn The Death Of Their Beloved Foster Pup

Sir Patrick Stewart and his wife welcomed Lenny, the 10-year-old foster pup, into their home with open arms from Wags and Walks, a rescue group in the LA area.

Things were looking up, as it was not Stewart’s first fostering experience with the organization. But just 5 days after arriving in the loving house of the famed actor, the pup sadly passed away.

Lenny had been saved from a high-kill shelter but, shortly after arriving in his new home, he began to develop symptoms of what seemed like kennel cough. He wasn’t drinking or eating, so he was taken to a vet. There, it was revealed that the pup didn’t have the infection they thought he did – he had pneumonia. He was hospitalized after and given an IV drip to keep him hydrated.

Just two days after this diagnosis, Lenny had severely worsened in condition and he had to be sent to the animal ICU. Lenny had a lot of health issues, and they were catching up to him. His blood pressure was unbalanced, his bowels were blocked, and he had a heart murmur issue. Many of his organs were failing. The terrible neglect he had faced throughout his life rendered Lenny too weak to fight the pneumonia.

Sadly, there was little more that vets could do. It was time to say goodbye. Stewart and his wife went to say goodbye to him, showering the poor pup with love and making sure he knew just how loved and cherished he was. The pup passed away within the next hour. In a statement, Steward talked about releasing the pup and lifting him up to the Rainbow Bridge – a heartfelt sentiment for a life cut tragically short.

Share away, people.
