When we see a stray dog on the streets, we find our hearts wishing we could help them find a home. Shelters are often at capacity, and street dogs are not always lucky enough to have food in their belly or a warm roof over their heads.
Our street strays do not choose to be put out on the street, and if possible, we should really try to do our best for them. A heart-warming case in New Mexico is a prime example of those who cannot give the dog a home but help as much as they possibly can.
Subway Sally is a beautiful street dog who earned her name from her regular visits to Subway in Portales, New Mexico. Every evening she would show up with her beautiful brown eyes in a search for any food she could find. The subway employees feed her the left-over food at the end of the day.
When one of the employees posted a video of them feeding her, social media went viral with mixed responses. A few people said she looked too good to be a stray and that she was probably just taking chances. However, after further investigation, it turns out that she is indeed a stray and the community has been looking after her.
When news came out that somebody has seen her already give birth to four litters of pups of the streets, people began planning for her to be adopted. With the kind actions of the locals, we can only hope that she will be given a great new home in no time!
