Everyone meet Ms. Sleepy Head… of course that’s not her name, but if you see her that’s exactly what you’re going to call her! This adorable dachshund pup is so sleepy, she can hardly keep her eyes open!
There’s two things that might have happened here. One either this pup had a long day and was too sleepy and this was just the start of her snoring or two, she was already asleep and someone switched on the lights! Either way, she’s awake now and desperately wants to sleep, but I think somewhere in the end, someone showed her a treat! Talking about sleep, how much is enough?
According to Petful and Canine Behavior: Insights and Answers, adult dogs sleep 12 to 14 hours per day and puppies get even more sleep — 18 hours per day or more. If your pet sleeps more or less than the average, it’s not necessarily cause for alarm. Every pet is different. “It depends on so many different factors such as environment, breed, sex and age of the pet,” says Dr. Pierre S. Bichsel, DVM, quoted in a 2005 article.
