Trying to care for a dog can be hard as it is. You have to keep an eye on them to ensure that they are hitting their developmental milestones, while making sure they’re growing up strong and healthy. And that’s not including all the socialization you have to do!
It’s usually all worth it in the end, but sometimes it can just be far too much work – and you just may not be ready for it. When these parents brought home two 10-month-old Dachshund mixes, they thought they could handle anything these puppies could throw at them.
Even if one of them was deaf.
Despite their best efforts, however, Bob the deaf Dachshund mix proved to be far more difficult than they could handle.
So they made the decision to have him rehomed, and placed him in care of the capable team at The Mayhew.
He has since proven himself to be a wonderful little dog, and has even learned some hand signals!
While he may not be able to hear verbal commands, he can follow orders just as well as any other dog.
Hopefully someone will see just how wonderful Bob is, and can give him the love and care he deserves!
