Beagle pups were bred to be hunting pups! With their incredibly powerful noses, they are fully capable of sniffing out all sorts of things with great ease.
So why not take advantage of it when you are trying to create some sort of enrichment exercise for them? Just think about all the possibilities!
The easiest one, of course, is one that involves hunting down treats! Hide-and-seek is a fun game for Oliver to play, since it means he can go all around the house sniffing out all the treats that Dad has hidden for him. It’s a great way to put that mighty nose to the test!
It’s pretty fun to see Oliver at work – he has his nose to the ground, sniffing away intensely. Is he trying to sniff out Dad’s path just before he placed the treats? Is there a way for him to pick up traces of the treats in the area? Just how does he do it?
