You may have noticed that “works well with children” is often an important note listed in a fair number of breed characteristics. There is a good reason for this – not all pups will work well with babies and young children, due to their innate attitudes and developed prey drives.
Because of this, the first thing many families will take into account the temperament and the personality of a pup before letting them interact with their baby.
The Labrador Retriever, to no one’s surprise, is well-known to be a great family pet – and it shows! In this montage of clips, you can easily see just how gentle these medium-sized pups are with the various babies they have been entrusted with. It makes for some incredibly adorable scenes!
It should be noted, however, that pups are still animals, and babies don’t really quite know their own strength. Care should always be taken when allowing pups and babies to interact, so they don’t hurt each other!
