Earning a diploma from university is an extremely long process full of hard work and exhaustion – and that’s just the beginning of the rest of your life in the so-called real world! That’s probably why this pup decided that his best bet was to steal one.
Students were eagerly waiting in their big black hats and capes in the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez, to receive their certificates for graduation. They were all relieved, excited to snatch up their respective diplomas, and beyond glad to be done with their studies for the time being.
One such graduating student was Cristina Ruiz. After receiving her diploma, she wandered around the area, taking photos as many would do to commemorate the occasion. When she saw Tarzán the bulldog pup, she decided to take a picture with him.
So, Ruiz knelt down to pose beside him – and that’s when the pup reached out and grabbed her diploma in his mouth. Her family was absolutely shocked! Evidently, he thought his best option to ever graduate was by faking it!
Luckily, no one was upset at the silly pup’s antics. You see, he’s not just any old doggo – he’s a bit of a campus celebrity as the university mascot. There’s even a big Tarzán statue on the campus grounds!
Besides, Ruiz considers her diploma to have been “blessed” by the famous pup. It’s made her graduation all the more special! Her family now likes to joke that her diploma has been specially signed by Tarzán with a bite taken out of it.
No one minds – they all admire the pup’s courage to just grab for his dreams, even if it didn’t work out!
