Are you aware that our tongue has some of the highest numbers of nerve receptors in the body? This is the reason why babies tend to put stuff in their mouths, the way we would explore something with our hands.
That is how we initially learn about the textures and tastes in the world!
Pups, having no paws, have to rely entirely on their mouths for the rest of their lives. (This, alas, is simply just their fate.) So when this adorable Labrador Retriever puppy spotted a tiny grasshopper on the wooden patio, he had to try giving it a taste!
Of course, the grasshopper wasn’t too big a fan of this idea – and tried to escape this pup’s clutches! In the end, someone spotted this pup trying to eat something he really shouldn’t, and chases him away from the insect. The grasshopper gets to live for another day! Huzzah!
