It can be challenging trying to get an older pup adopted. Most families are understandably more interested in puppies – for one, you can socialize them and acclimatise them per your household needs, which isn’t something you can do with older pups.
Still, there’s plenty of love to be found in full-grown pooches
That isn’t to say they don’t come without their fair share of troubles, however. Normally this shelter won’t show their pups to the world until they are ready to be adopted – they want these pups to put their best foot forward, after all. But with 6 or 7-year-old Oakley the English Bulldog pup, they’re doing things a little differently.
Oakley came to the shelter with some severe medical issues, and while he’s being cared for right now with the utmost attention, he has a long road to recovery ahead of him. Hopefully, he will do better soon – but in the meantime, there’s no harm sending aid and well wishes!
