No matter how much your pup loves the water, it seems that they will always be stressed out by bath time. What is about the whole process of getting clean that bothers pups so much? The only way to make this not a problem, it seems, is to get your pups acclimatized to it since puppyhood.
This Dad is getting a head-start on having Andy the Labrador Retriever puppy adjust to the bathtub. He starts off by sprinkling a handful of treats into a dry bathtub, then places Andy in it. A good idea, since this helps Andy associate the bathtub with good things!
After Andy’s eaten a few of the treats, Dad then turns on the water – slowly, and a little at a time. Andy isn’t too fond of the sudden appearance of water, but this brave pup takes it well with the help of more treats. Dad takes his time with Andy, and soon the whole bath goes by without any incident!
