It’s always fun to bring your pups with you to an eatery, but not many of them allow dogs. That’s why the news of this special cafe in Suffolk that’s opening just for Dachshunds is enough to send many sausage dog Moms and Dads rushing over!
Enya Perry, a 26-year-old teacher who is the organizer behind the Ipswich Sausage Dog Walks every month in Christchurch Park, is the mastermind behind this amazing business venture.
But she isn’t doing this for profit. Her main goal is to raise funds to support Dachshunds Health UK in their efforts to support Dachshunds with Intervertebral disc disease, or IVDD. This condition can lead to paralysis and is especially problematic in Dachshunds; 1 in 4 of them will develop the condition in their lives. The cost of treatment can often amount to thousands and thousands of dollars on end.
Perry has her own Dachshund, Luna, who had an IVDD scare before. Luna helps Perry ease her anxiety and Perry felt lost while her pup was suffering the condition. That’s why she wants to start this cafe!
Due to the huge population of Dachshunds in the Suffolk area, Perry is hopeful that the cafe will take off. She also would love to meet other pup parents through this establishment.
