If there is one thing we know, it is that our dogs possess the ability to show unconditional compassion despite the circumstances they are in. Even in the worst of times, our fur-faced companions are always willing to give us love and affection, even when we don’t really deserve it back.
Dog shelters can be tough places for dogs. They often have limited space, not a lot of playtime, and the lack of attention might even affect their mental and physical well-being. These are a few of the reasons why we should support our local dog shelters if we can and try to find loving homes for these pups as soon as possible.
In a dog shelter over in Alabama, lives a special dog who has a very peculiar way of greeting visitors that stop by. Speck is a shelter dog who was surrendered by his owner when he was just over one year old. Being behind metal bars has never been a limitation for Speck, even when he had no prospects of a future home.
This compassionate canine makes a point of greeting every single visitor by sticking his bar through the metal bars and holding their hands. Over time he became well-known for his handshaking, and visitors were taking photos and videos of him to share with friends and family all over! The videos went absolutely viral on social media, and people from all over were coming to know who Speck is.
