This Dog Suddenly Wanted The Spotlight As His Dad Showcased The Hurricane Ida Weather Report

While many of us were worried about the dangers of the oncoming hurricane Ida, this weatherman had his own disaster to contain at his in-house studio when the Weather Dog named Storm took over the weather segment.

To date, the footage of this incident has over a quarter of a million views on Youtube and is a viral moment in its own right. The video shows Global News meteorologist Anthony Farrel doing his usual weather forecast for the weekend. All of a sudden, his Goldendoodle struts onto the green screen. He reacts to this intrusion by saying, “Yes, Storm is in the building,” a hilarious quip given the circumstances.

His attempts at blocking Storm failed and he soon gave up. Storm continued to roam the set, seemingly on the hunt for treats and appeared to be floating in the clouds.

Global News was a good sport about it, and the caption to the Youtube video read: “Both consummate professionals, Anthony finished his segment without a hitch while Storm sated his hunger (and mugged a bit for the camera) … all in a day’s work!”

This is actually the second time Storm made his way onto the set, making an unplanned appearance on the news. According to Farrel, “I was working on my weather maps, and I assumed Storm was under my desk,” Farnell told Today. “A couple of minutes later I glanced up to the TV monitor in front of me and there was Storm, popping his head up from under the news desk right beside the anchor during our live broadcast.”
