When neighbors agreed to look after 14-year-old Eric for the day, they didn’t expect that his family wouldn’t come back for him ever again. He was given to the RSPCA, and now, two months later, he’s still waiting for a home.
Eric, being at a senior age, loves to snooze and live a low-energy life. Sure, he still gets the zoomies, but usually he enjoys a slower approach to living. He likes to cuddle with people he meets, and of course, he absolutely loves his naps. He gets nine hours of sleep nightly and makes sure he gets to bed at 10pm every night, and we won’t wake up till after 7 the next morning!
This is on top of Eric’s usual afternoon nap, which he usually spends in a cool area so his thick coat doesn’t heat him up too much. But in spite of Eric’s adorable love affair with catching some sleep, he sure does love people – a lot! He would love to snuggle up to a loved one for naps, or cuddle for hours, and he very much appreciates ear and back scratches.
Due to the stressful life at the shelter, Eric had to be moved to a foster home. Luckily for him, that means lots of napping space and a comfortable environment, but he is still in desperate need of a forever home where he can spend his golden years happily. He’s nervous about being left alone, so he’d like to be in a home where someone is always around to look after him for a large portion of the day.
Eric would also need a home that doesn’t have young kids or cats, though he’d do fine with older children and other pups. It’s also worth noting that he has lost most of his hearing, so he can get startled and scared when approached in the wrong way, so his family would need to keep that in mind. All he needs after that are walks, cuddles, and naps!
