Before we move ahead with the post, let me share with you two inspirational stories about our favorite breed – the German shepherd. In Mendon, Massachusetts, a German Shepherd pulled a nine-month-old baby out of her pen and took her outdoors before anyone else realized that the house was on fire. Can you imagine this?

In June 1964, Lux, a three-year-old German Shepherd, helped his 17 year old master escape from East Germany into West Germany. The dog attacked Communist guards and kept them from firing at his owner. He then got across the border himself without injury. That’s confidence!
