Thanksgiving is just around the corner and as much as you’d want your fur kid to enjoy all the delicious foods you’re going to enjoy, please think about their health. Here are top 10 Thanksgiving foods that are surprisingly dangerous to dogs.
#1 – Cooked Bones From The Turkey/Chicken
Because they will crack and splinter. They are also known to choke your fur kid and worse, they can puncture their digestive track.
#2 – Onions & Garlic
Garlic is more toxic than onions and both can cause serious problems in our fur kids. Apart from lethargy, elevated heart and respiratory rates and pale gums, your fur kid can even collapse.
#3 – Grapes & Raisins
Both of them are toxic. Consuming grapes can lead to irreversible kidney damage so it’s best you keep them away form your fur ball.
#4 – Milk & Dairy Products
Many fur kids are lactose intolerant so if they consume milk and dairy products, they can become gassy and may suffer from diarrhea.
#5 – Sugar
Natural sweet is beneficial like sweet potatoes, yams and pumpkins, but not candies, chocolates, pies and other sugar coated foods as it could upset their stomach. If fed for longer periods it can cause decay, obesity and diabetes.

#6 – Caffeine
Although your fur kids don’t like this, but if they accidentally consume it in large quantities, it can cause poisoning and there’s no way to recover your pup. Keep it out of reach. Always.
#7 – Macadamia Nuts
These are extremely toxic because just 5 or 6 of these nuts can cause seizures, tremors, and death. Macadamia nuts and foods containing these nuts should be out of reach of your fur balls at all times.
#8 – Fat Trimmings
Although this looks tempting to feed your fur kid with, please don’t. It can cause serious health problems, even obesity and pancreatitis. Left over? In the trash bin.
#9 – Chocolate
This is also extremely toxic – the darker the chocolate, the more poisonous it is. While milk chocolate or white chocolate can cause diarrhea, a small amount of dark baking chocolate can be fatal.
#10 – Alcohol
While no one feeds this, please make sure that your fur kid doesn’t drink it by accident because it can affect their brain and kidneys, much like us humans. The more they drink, the worse they become. Keep this away.
Please remember that no matter how many times your fur kid shows you a puppy face, don’t fall for it! Thanksgiving foods may be delicious for you, but for your fur kid, it can be very dangerous.
