Aside from rats and guinea pigs, beagles are one of the most commonly used animals for pharmaceutical testing. The beagle featured in this video was once used in the testing industry, but now, thanks to the Beagle Freedom Project, has an incredible new life!
Barney the beagle was living in a laboratory for the first 7 years of his life and had a horrible existence. He was tested on regularly and he still lives with the scars and health complications that came from his experience in the lab, but thankfully, his life is very different these days.
