Why Do Dogs Suddenly Run Around In Random Bursts Of Energy?

Just as humans have bursts of energy, our dogs all do as well. All dog parents have seen their dogs sitting down eating, or laying on the couch, and then turning around the next moment to find them racing around the living room or playing crazily outside.

We all ask this question, why do they dash around for no reason?

Some say that they are just having fun, whereas others are saying it’s due to the environment. Jose Arce, who is the president of the American Veterinary Medical Association, believes that these random bursts of energy are due to a frenetic activity period, which all species encountered. Sure, these energy spurts come at random times, there are many triggers that dogs face.

When dog parents get home from work or the store and let their dogs out, they find them running around the house like crazy people. This is simply because all the energy that they kept throughout the day needs to be released. Additionally, when your dogs are acting crazy in the early mornings or before bed, it’s because these are the two most common times that dogs are the most active. This behavior is extremely normal and will be encountered by all dogs at some point in their days.

Many dog parents call these episodes “zoomies” and they are not to be feared. Just keep in mind, if these episodes are happening, removing fragile objects and breakable pieces is recommended. Also, if you are in situations where there is danger, allowing your dog to zoom around might not be the safest option.
