Woman Gets Locked Out Of Dog's Facebook Account - Facebook Is Asking For His Driver's License!

Facebook, among other social media platforms, have all types of security in the case of being unable to log in. These security measures are usually questions, or in some cases providing documentation as proof of identity.

They are put in place to stop people from logging into accounts that are not theirs or prevent hacking incidents. But what happens when your devoted dog’s page is accidentally logged out of? What documentation could you possibly provide? This was the case for a woman from Seattle, and her four-legged family member, Max.

This dog mom had created a Facebook page for Max. Unfortunately, she had accidentally logged out of his account on one occasion. When she registered and reported the situation with Facebook, they said that they require Max’s driver’s license for her to gain access on his behalf.

Sounds ludicrous, does it not?! As it turns out, Facebook no longer allows profiles for pets of any kind. They would rather you create a page for your canine companion than a profile. Facebook says profiles are for people only. According to Facebook, it boils down to accountability on what is posted and the prevention of spamming.

Max’s mom says she definitely sees the reasoning behind it; however, it is strange that pet profiles are being targeted when fan accounts are not. When she took to social media with her situation, it turns out that there are other dog parents out there who have experienced the same thing. What a puzzling situation to find oneself in!
